Citizens and business owners gather at the first Kimball Banner County Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours since 2016.

After nearly two years, Business After Hours is back in Kimball and revamped. The Kimball-Banner County Chamber of Commerce held the first Business After Hours since November of 2016 on Thursday, July 12.

This time Kimball's Business After Hours is focused on the community as a whole, not just the businesses that are Chamber members. Best Plumbing and Carr Sprits were the two local businesses headlined in this event.

"Kimball is a small community and the Chamber wants to adjust how larger communities run their Business After Hours. Kimball's won't be the same; our community is different in many aspects," said Special Projects Coordinator Amy Sapp. "We want to recognize all of the businesses in town, not just the ones that are members of the Chamber."

There were 50 community members in attendance last week at the Chamber office for the event.

"We hope we can keep having good turn-outs for these events," said Kimball-Banner County Chamber Coordinator Echo Kizzair. "These are all open to the public. We want as many in the community to enjoy these nights out as possible, including non-members of the chamber."

According to Kizzair there has been a lot of interest from local businesses about scheduling another Business After Hours in the near future.

"We are going to shoot for quarterly, but more if we can get more businesses that are wanting to join," said Sapp.

According to Sapp, the Chamber is considering a new Investment Schedule to replace old Chamber dues. Doing so will make membership more affordable for smaller businesses.
