Pave the trail fundraiser kick-off

Volunteers spent many hours cleaning the Janicek Dam area to prepare for a walking trail, remote control car track and dog park. Above, volunteers are planting trees for the aesthetic effect as well as for shade.

The Kimball Community Trail sponsored by the Kimball Area Foundation Fund is well into Phase 1 of the project. There are three planning phases to the trail project:

Phase 1 is the portion of the trail south of the dam, currently under construction. The trail layout has almost been completed, with small layout changes being made following the recent rains. Trees have been planted, the dog park has been marked and locations for benches and shaded areas have been picked.
