Improvements planned for Oliver Reservoir this summer

There are more potential improvements to come at Oliver Reservoir in the coming months including, improvements to the boat ramp and a dump station is in the works according to Galen Wittrock of the South Platte NRD.

"Most everything that happens at Oliver is volunteer-based," added Wittrock.

Wittrock said we will be looking at the addition to the boat ramp within the next couple weeks, hoping it kicks off mid-May. According to Wittrock the boat ramp is currently open, but will be closed for a couple of days to let the cement set once the project is underway. Buoys will be up again within the next few weeks to block off the swimming area.

The dump station is still a short time out. Wittrock stated that the NRD will be approving this project at the next regular meeting in May, but is hoping they will look to start the project in June.

A position of Camp Host, as well as, a Maintenance position will be coming open within the next few weeks as well. The Camp Host position is not paid, but does provide the chosen applicant with water, sewer, and electrical hookups for no cost. More information will be available about these two positions within the coming weeks when more is available.
