Wise and Anthony Go One-Two at Gering Quad

The Kimball High Boy's Golf Team opened their season at the Gering Quad this past week in an event that was not on the original schedule. It involved the hosting Gering team, Scottsbluff, Mitchell and Kimball. No team score was kept and there were 35 golfers total, including 8 Kimball golfers.

Kimball played well, especially since they had but a very few days where they were allowed on the Kimball course, or even the driving range and practice putting green. It was a late afternoon event, starting at 4 p.m. and got rather cool before the golfers were done with their 9 holes of play.

Kimball's Dillon Wise and Zane Anthony took the top two finishes with Wise shooting an even par 9 holes of 36 and Anthony in 2nd place with his 38 score. Izaac Reuter also finished in the top ten at 7th place, with his score of 43. Cole Henton, a freshman, scored well with his 47 to tie for 15th, Kole Bush shot 48 for 17th, Jaren Winstrom 51 for 20th, Jacob Walker 53 for 21st and Weston Walker 55 to tie for 25th.

As mentioned last week, the Bayard and Chase County tournaments have both been post-poned to later dates and the next action for the Kimball Team, unless something comes up, is the Mitchell Tournament this coming Tuesday (April 10) with a start time of 9 a.m. On April 12, they will play at Bridgeport.

Due to the snowstorm over the weekend, the Four Winds Course was closed to play on Monday for all golfers.
