Kimball wrestlers have strong day at Lingle

The Kimball High Wrestling Team had a strong showing at Saturday's Dogger Invite in Lingle with all five of their wrestlers earning places.

The Cluff brothers had to battle it out for the top spot at 113 pounds with junior Jordan Cluff winning 11-8 over freshman brother Connor. Jordan was Kimball's lone champion on the day winning all three of his matches and is now 19-8 on the season. Connor had a bye, won two matches by pin, and lost in the title match to brother Jordan. His season record is now 7-16.

Jaden Mohr at 132 finished fifth but may have had the toughest bracket. He drew a bye, and had two wins and two losses and is now 17-13. Stephen Bateman at 195 ended up third with three wins and one loss and is now 10-14 record wise.

A new name to you readers is Izaak Rohde, a freshman transfer from Pine Bluffs. Wrestling at 220 pounds he finished second at Lingle with a bye, two wins and one loss and is now 2-1 in his short career with the Longhorns.

Garrett Pedersen, Kimball senior who wrestles at 120 missed the Lingle Tournament due to illness but hopes to be ready for this Saturday's tough competition at the Mitchell Invite.

'We wrestled well at Lingle because we were in better condition that our competition" said coach Wade Brashear. "I was pleased with our effort, but it will be a lot tougher this week at Mitchell." wrestling at Mitchell is scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m.
