Potter-Dix ladies boast strong leaders despite graduating two

The Potter-Dix Lady Coyotes are heading into this season with high hopes and head coach Lance Juelfs stepping in as his first year at Potter-Dix.

Juelfs isn't new to the coaching game as he had plenty of experience as a head coach for six years, as well as, five years added to his resume as an assistant. With Jeff Einsparh beside him on the bench, as well as, volunteer coaches Lane Juelfs and Jordan Ottoson the Lady Coyotes look to have all the coaching attributes they will need.

With those high hopes for this season comes with great memories of last year when Potter-Dix went 20-4 on the season, going undefeated in conference and district and finishing first in both.

Returning to the starting line up this year is Audrey Juelfs, going into this year averaging 14 points per game with seven assists per game, Payge Hoffman, averaging six points per game and five steals per game, and Trinity Langley nine points per game and four blocks per game.

Returning lettermen for the Lady Coyotes are Brooke Moench and Makayla Merz. Some newcomers to keep a look out for are Kelsey Hoffman at forward and Reagan Williams at shooting guard.

Coach Juelfs applauds his girls for the great senior leadership and defensive effort. While their defense is on point, it is a key component that taking care of the ball when there is ball pressure could either be a great attribute if improved on or a big dagger if not much improvement is seen.

Having a good group of return starters and letter winners comes with great responsibility. Juelfs said he expects these girls to come in ready with court leadership and good game management.

Taking a little deeper look into the newcomers, Juelfs is already planning on Williams to hit some open shots and K. Hoffman will be asked to rebound and take care of the ball.

One of the biggest challenges coach expects to see this year is adversity, "losing two four year starters is hard, we have to learn a bunch of new roles and how to adjust on the fly during each and every game."

Good luck this season Lady Coyotes!
