Kimball High grad, Jordan Greenwood, is liking college style golf and as a member of the Southeast Community College Men's Golf Team, he has been holding his own. In his most recent outing at the two day tournament held at Sterling, Colorado, he finished second with his two day total of 72-71=143. Southeast won the team title handily with their two day totals of 291-283. The only player finishing higher than Jordan was team mate Noha Hoffman of McCook, a sophomore at Southeast, shooting 140.

Jordan and the Southeast team has played five rounds so far and have won four times. At Campus, Jordan shot 77, fired a 75 at York, a 76 at the University of Nebraska at Kearney where Southeast lost by two strokes to the Antelopes, and then his rounds at Sterling this past week.

The fall golf season is not as extensive as the spring season will be. Remaining on the fall season are a tournament at McCook this Thursday and Friday, a home tournament at Beatrice next week and then the Intercollegiate Tournament in Norfolk. Jordan has not actually started classes yet and will begin school on October third. Up to this point, the players are on their own as far as when they practice. That of course, will also change when spring golf begins. Also, during fall golf, the players do not receive medals etc, but will in spring golf.

As to how Jordan is enjoying golf college style, "I really like it" he said. "I feel more at ease as everyone out there are all solid golfers who know the rules and how it should be played". In all of the tournaments the golfers play the black tees and it really doesn't matter who plays in what position on the team as all five golfers are of pretty equal ability. It was like old home week at the Sterling Tournament this past week as his parents and grandparents made the short trip down to watch him play and he certainly didn't disappoint them with his rounds of both days.
