Busy week takes Kimball cross country on the road

Kimball Cross Country runners were busy again last Thursday Sept. 21, in Ogallala, Junior Varsity and Varsity ran together. There was a total of 166 runners just in the boys race. For the High School boys Garrett Pedersen had a time of 21:18, followed by Kaden Adrian with 21:30, Nicholas Thomas-Lewis had a time of 22:02, Brady Kilgore 23:05, Cole Henton followed with a time of 24:37, Jordan Cluff with a time of 26:58 and Alexander Flores 27:25.

The JV and Varsity girls all ran together with a total of 112 runners, Brandi Councilman had a time of 28:42 followed by Kaylyn Nelson with a time of 31:56.

Kimball Junior High boys had two runners out of a total of 79, Xavier Thomas-Lewis, with a time of 16:03, and Gideon Casimiro with a time of 16:22.

Junior High girls had a six Kimball runners out of 53, Chantel Malson with a time of 13:03 for fifth place, Caelyn Long in seventh place with a time of 13:11, followed by Anabela Whitehead at 15:05, Maddison Merryfield had a 16:23, Louise Tambanillo a time of 17:34 and Alycia Vrbas with a time of 22:14.

Ogallala was a good meet with a lot of great competition, “This allows us to see schools that we don’t see around here. We are proud of how are runners competed and continue to look forward to the rest of the season,” added coach Johnson.

Ogallala will be in Gothenburg today Thursday Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. “Every year at the Gothenburg meet seems to be where our runners have their best times.”
