Olive M. Erickson

Olive M. Erickson, 87, of Kimball, died at the Kimball County Manor on Wednesday, September 20, 2017. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the Kimball Cemetery with Pastor Mel Daves officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m. Friends may also visit http://www.cantrellfh.com to view Olive's Tribute wall and leave stories and condolences for the family. Memorials may be given to either the First Baptist Church or the Kimball County Manor. The services for Olive have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.

Olive Myra Erickson was born at the family home in Brandt, South Dakota on March 16, 1930, the daughter of Ole and Alma (Olson) Nowick. She received her early education in Bemis, South Dakota and she attended high school in South Shore, South Dakota. While attending a dance in Turnerville, South Dakota she met Roger Erickson. They were married in Revillo, South Dakota on February 27, 1960. They lived in Big Stone, South Shore, Wilmont, Milbank and Belle Fourche, South Dakota before making Kimball their permanent home. They raised their five children, twins Jonovan and Donovan, Galen, Eileen and Susan in Kimball. Olive was very active in her church and loved going on long walks throughout Kimball.

Survivors include her husband Roger Erickson of Kimball, NE; sons Donovan (Jellene) Erickson of Bushnell, NE and Jonovan (LeAnne) Erickson also of Bushnell, NE., Galen Erickson of Lincoln, NE; daughters Eileen (Tom) Payne of Chappell, NE and Susan Erickson and friend David of Sidney, NE; sister Margaret Swenson of Watertown, SD; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Alfred Nowick and Harold Nowick, infant sister Agnes Nowick and grandsons Tristen and Zach.
