Hannah Biesecker rises above the net to kill the ball during the Kimball/Bridgeport game last week.

Kimball Lady Longhorns hosted their first volleyball match of the season this past Thursday night, Aug. 31, when Bridgeport came to town.

Bridgeport won sets one and two, and were looking like they would come away with a third, but Kimball took set number three of four to keep the Lady Bulldogs in town for a little longer.

In the end, it was Bridgeport that came away with the game, winning 3-1.

"We need to stay out of the net, and our passing seemed to be a big problem, we must work on communication," added Coach Jeri Ferguson.

Hannah Biesecker was the Runza player of the game with 11 kills, 12 points, two ace serves, 19 digs, three blocks. Kate Reader added 10 kills and two blocks, Justine Heeg had one kill, one assist and seven points, Carli Wurdaman added five assists, seven points and three digs, Madison Wynne also added one kill, 15 assists and three points.

Get ready to see your Lady Horns in action again as they prepare to take on Potter-Dix and Mitchell in a triangular matchup starting this afternoon, Thursday, Sept. 7 in Kimball at 4 p.m.
