Smith visits Kimball

Adrian Smith, United States Representative for Nebraska's 3rd congressional district, visited Kimball this past Monday, Aug. 28, to speak with the public and answer any questions some people in our communities are looking for some answers.

Smith wants to address the pre-existing conditions "in a way that protects those folks, anyone who had been free of cancer for 10 years it is still held against them." Smith also says this needs to be addressed and that they are also addressing it in the house bill. "Part of the health care problem now is that everything was done with one vote, it was a politically timed vote, and that is what is very troubling to me."

According to Smith he penned a letter with his colleagues reminding the administration our irrigation infrastructure is part of our nations infrastructure, saying "lets look at the regulations, regulations have piled up over the years making it more difficult in terms of irrigation. A lot of the irrigation canals in our country have been around longer than a lot of our highways. It is a necessary part of our country and how we help feed our own citizens and help feed the world.
