Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First

The Kimball Public Library is the place to be this weekend

More than a dozen Nebraska writers will gather at the Kimball Public Library this weekend for the Six Corners of Nebraska – Panhandle Southwest event.

On Saturday, Aug. 5, N.L. Sharp will facilitate “The Rim of the Prairie: A writing practice marathon.” Sharp, a children’s author and educational writing consultant is from Fremont. She is also the coordinator for the Nebraska Novel Retreats for Middle Grade and Young Adult Authors.

The fun continues on Saturday, Aug. 6, beginning at 12:30 p.m. with reading by Nebraska Authors, “Nebraska History as told by Peter Sarpy,” by historical reenactor, Darrel Draper, and “The Life and Loves of Bess Streeter Aldrich,” by Cheryl Paden.

All of this while writers from Nebraska are available to visit with participants and the “Future Great Writers of Nebraska” awards and reading are presented.

Nebraska writers, from Bushnell to Omaha, who are expected include: Tim Nolting, Deb Carpenter Nolting, Cort Fernald, Nancy Sharp Wagner, Faith Colburn, Kristin Ganount, L.T. Varner, Anashta Celovich, Diane Winters, Connor Sandall, Irene North, Bart Schaneman, Brent Anderson, John Bahr, Jody Lamp and Cheryl Paden.

Everyone is invited to attend and enjoy the talents of these Nebraska writers.
