Barbara A. Shiffermiller

Barb was born in Sidney on April 21, 1927 and died in Omaha on June 18, 2017. She was the second of four children born to Arthur “Ike” Elsworth Killham and Barbara Augusta Alice Killham (Pieron). Barb spent her childhood on a farm near Dix, Nebraska. She attended a one-room school where she often claimed to have been the fastest girl runner her age; however, as we reminded her, she was the only girl in her class. Barb’s mother died at a young age, and the four children were lovingly raised by her father and Lucile (Cile) Gressot.
