Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
From gear heads to cowboys, everyone is meeting in Potter this weekend and events begin tonight, Thursday, June 22, with the Potter Melodrama "The Stinky Feet Gang," a hilarious wild west show, at the Legion Hall in Potter beginning 7 p.m.
The show will go on again at the same time Friday night and the finale will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
The annual event draws contestants and crowds from near and far. Burgers and brats served an hour before show time each night.
The Lincoln Highway Cruisers will showcase their classic cars in downtown Potter on Saturday and this year there will be a contest to see which classic cruiser sports the most horsepower!
Food vendors, all non-profit, will be sprinkled throughout the village and the festivities move inside at the Duckpin Bowling alley with a tournament beginning at 9 a.m.
Kids can jump in the bounce houses and there will be a cowboy fast draw, a mechanical bull to ride and the wicked chicken jackpot.
As the weekend winds to an end little buckaroos can be found riding miniature bulls at the arena and when the sun goes down there will be a fireworks show.
All funds raised, in addition to prize monies, will be used to support the American Legion Hall, the Duckpin Bowling Alley and the arena.
So come one, come all, to the Potter Car Bowl this weekend – we'll see you there!
