Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
VFW Post #2243 and the Kimball County Veteran’s Service Office announce the 2017 Memorial Day service schedule.
The event begins at 10 a.m. At the Kimball Cemetery with Greetings and Welcome followed by the Opening Prayer by Pastor Pettit.
Bob and Mary Kay Jenner will sing a Patriotic Song and Joyce Witt will perform the Laying of the Wreath for the unknown soldier prior to the keynote speaker, Dale Wittrock, Past Dep Commander and State Buddy Poppy Chairman of Davenport.
The Honor Guard salute and taps will follow and the Raising of the Flag ceremony before Mary Kay Jenner sings the Star Spangled Banner.
Veteran’s that have passed away from the area will be honored and veterans that are in attendance recognized with name, rank, and branch of service.
Flags will be raised before the closing prayer is offered.
The VFW Post #2243 will then host a hamburger feed at the local post, located at 227 S. Chestnut in Kimball.
