Weekend of extremes

The ballroom was the place to be last Friday night for a high-cotton, foot-stomping Redneck Gala to benefit the Kimball Event Center. Over 150 people enjoyed the musical talents and time donated by the Dave Stahla band, food prepared by Greg Reinninger and of course, lots of beer. Donations from several businesses were gifted to the event center and in an act of generosity, most of the winners of those raffles, donated the money back to the event center or towards the next event scheduled. The consensus was that fun was had by all and many requested that this become a yearly occurance. Saturady night, the Event Center was again the place to be, this time however, the setting was an estate in old day Britian and a murderer was amoungst the dinner guests. Suspects are pictured above, l - r: Lady Lila Westby (Renee Carlson from Mitchell), Ambrose Haines (Jake McIntosh), Walter Eaton (Steen Schulte), Eudora Crane (Lindsay Forepaugh), Lady Adella Westby (Deb Carpenter-Nolting) and Lord Henry Westby (Tim Nolting). This was the third year in a row that Friends of the Library put on the successful murder mystery dinner, selling out of tickets well before the night of the event. Nearly $900, after expenses, was raised to benefit the Kimball Library.
