Kimball Junior Varsity results

The Kimball High junior varsity basketball teams got their season underway this past week with some games with Perkins County and Morrill.

A tough week for the Kimball girls who lost to Perkins County 15-13 in 2 quarters of play and then lost 32-30 at Morrill in a full 4 quarter game. Against Perkins County Kaylyn Nelson was high for Kimball with 7, Madison Wynne had 4, and Carli Wurdeman 2.

Trailing 29-16 in the 4th quarter at Morrill, the Kimball girls staged a strong come back to tie the contest at 30-30 when Carli Wurdeman took a long full court pass and made a layin, but Morrill won it on a layin of their own in the final seconds. Wurdeman had 9 for Kimball, Lacey Klinkhammer who was strong on the boards with a good number of rebounds, had 8, Nicole Delaplane had 3, Kaylyn Nelson 3, Sierra Rutledge 2, Sheridan Magninie 1, and Madision Wynne 4.

The Kimball boys had a 4 quarter game with Perkins County losing 51-48. A big night for Andrew McCloud who led Kimball with 20 points hitting 4 treys. Izaac Reuter had 10 with 2 treys, Kole Bush 7 with 1 trey, Grant Hickman 5 with 1 trey, Brendan Walker 4, and Corey Travis 2.

The boys JV played just 2 quarters at Morrill with Kimball taking a 30-0 lead after 1 quarter and winning 39-10. Colton Mielke had 17 with 2 treys, Corey Travis 8, Zane Anthony 7 with 1 trey, Grant Hickman 4, Walker 2 and Brady Kilgore 1.
