Lady Cats don't fare well against Lady Warriors - Sioux Co. or Leyton

The Banner County Lady Wildcats suffered a 3-0 loss at the hands of the Sioux County Lady Warriors (11-9) in Harrison on Thursday, Oct. 13.

The Banner County girls battled hard through the sets, with the attack led by Makenna Dahlgrin who racked up ten kills, followed by Savannah Jordan with three, and teammates Bailee Underhill, Rylie Mason and Emily Singleton with one each.

Mason served up two aces with Dahlgrin and Underhill each contributing one.

The Lady Warriors kept Banner County hopping, with Sierra Flores, Jadyn Cross and Dahlgrin credited with five digs each followed by Mason with three and Jordan, Underhill and Singleton each contributing one. Dahlgrin was the only Lady Cat to put up a solo block.

Despite the Lady Cats efforts the aggressive Sioux County tribe racked up 28 kills and 16 aces and out maneuvered Banner County defensively as well, with 7-1 blocking and more than doubling Banner Counties digs.

The Lady Cats traveled again on Saturday, Oct. 15, to battle the Leyton Warriors (13-11) in Dalton for matching losses in two sets, bringing their overall record to 3-14.

Again Dahlgrin led offensively with two kills and two aces, followed by Jordan with one kill of her own and Cross with one ace.

Defense was a challenge for the Banner County girls, with no recorded blocks, but Cross tallied nine digs, with Jordan adding four and Singleton, three. Dahlgrin and Flores were each credited with two digs and Underhill and Mason added one each.

The Wildcats hosted the Warriors for a follow-up on Tuesday, Oct. 18, along with the Potter-Dix Coyotes (24-1), at the Banner County triangular, stats were not available at press time.
