Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First

Letter to the editor

Thank you again for the “Kimball Kindness”

There are so many reasons to love our city of Kimball. A few days ago was a perfect example. Bernita Brown and I went for our usual morning walk. This time we went uptown to run some errands. Unknowing that I hadn’t secured my wallet in my purse, it fell out. One of the managers at FirsTier Bank found it. He brought it to the bank, and Mrs. Garrett then tried to find who it belonged to. My name and address were inside, but my phone numbers had recently been changed. Knowing how worried I’d be when I realized it was missing, she tried to find some way to contact me.

Finally, she called the City of Kimball office to ask if they could help. Wendy remembered that Bernita and I were friends and neighbors. She looked up Bernita’s number. At any rate, very busy people with very busy schedules took their time to help.

Each day I’m here I see such acts of “Kimball Kindness.” It never fails to amaze me. When U call and tell friends and family who don’t live here, they say things like, “Well, it couldn’t or wouldn’t happen here.”

Well, it does in Kimball.

I just want to say thank you again,

Marlene (Becky) Steele – Kimball
