Charles Lyon

Charles Lyon, 87, of Sidney Nebraska went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Sidney Regional Medical Center, extended care.

Memorials have been designated to the Evangelical Free Church.

Charles Frederick Lyon was born September 16, 1928 at Long Beach, California. Chuck was adopted by Harry A. and Nora B. (Franson) Lyon when he was five years old. He accepted Christ at the age of six. Chuck was raised on a farm south of Dix, Nebraska and graduated from East Denver High School in Denver, Colorado. He attended Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills, Alt. Canada.

Chuck married Donna Webb on September 25, 1948 at Cannon Beach, Oregon and farmed over 54 years south of Dix, Nebraska. He moved to Sidney in 1975, still farming.

Chuck was a member of the Evangelical Free Church, where he held many positions in the church. He loved kids and had hobbies of raising fish and pigeons.

Survivors include his wife, Donna of Sidney, NE; two sons: John Lyon of Woodlands, TX and David Lyon and wife Lupita of Sahuarita, AZ; one daughter Lori Schultz and husband Marlyn of Gering, NE; 7 grandchildren: Mark, Chanda, Michelle, Colton, Ashlyn, Sofia and Joshua and 4 great-grandchildren: Evangeline, Morgan, Brandon and Chase.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, one sister Mary and one great granddaughter, Ryan.
