Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First

Support the American dream, shop locally

Owning your own business was the American Dream for years.

Due to the availability of big box stores who buy in bulk so they may “pass” the savings on to the consumer, the little hometown stores are suffering.

However, these big box stores do not support our local economy.

For example: for every $100 spent in our hometown, $73 remains in the local economy, and $27 goes out. A non-hometown business will keep approximately $43 with $57 leaving.

Our hometown businesses are the backbone of Kimball’s economy. They are local investors that are committed to staying in Kimball, raising their families here and are the biggest supporters of our community.

Shopping local keeps money in Kimball, invests in our economy, supports our Kimball youth programs and community, is cost effective and allows that community spirit to grow as our businesses grow.

Across the nation, many communities are experiencing much of the same, thus we have the shop locally campaign.
