The Plains Historical Society invited art students from Kimball High School to design a new logo for the organization. Students designed a logo incorporating as many aspects of the local economy and history as possible. The winners were chosen in a blind entry vote by the Plains Historical Society board. Here, Glynn Felkins, left, and Penny Merryfield, right present the winner of the contest, Alanda Lynn Prather, with a certificate and a check in the amount of $100.
