Chase County SPVA track champions

Trent Rutledge flies high over the bar at the Bayard B-C-D track meet this past Friday. The Kimball High senior now shares the school record in the pole vault with Bob Gerner after clearing 13'6" at the SPVA meet this past week. Gerner had owned sole possession of the school record he set in 1976 until Rutledge equalled it on May 3 at Imperial.

The host school, Chase County, won both the girl's and boy's team titles at the SPVA Track and Field Meet held in Imperial this past week. In the girl's division they piled up 193 points with North Platte St. Pats a distant runner up with 94 followed by Bridgeport with 90, Sutherland 51, Hershey 51, KIMBALL 34, Perkins County 13.

In the boy's division it was Chase County 121, St. Pats 100, Bridgeport 88, KIMBALL 68, Perkins County 66, Hershey 47, Sutherland 37.
