E. Betty (Lukesh) Janicek-Eisenhauer

Betty (Lukesh) Janicek Eisenhauer passed away Friday April 15, 2016, in Cheyenne Wyoming.

Betty was born January 26, 1934, in Kimball, NE, the second child of Albert and Agnes Lukesh. She lived and attended schools in Ord and Kimball, NE.

Betty met Donald Janicek at the main railroad crossing in Pine Bluffs on her way to a dance. They married on August 28, 1950. Shortly following their wedding they moved to the farm in Nebraska, northeast of Pine Bluffs. On the farm Betty worked along side Donald, it was during this time all eleven of their children were born. Working on the farm she helped with chores-milking, gathering eggs-and she had a large garden and sewed many of the children's clothes. She was a great cook and baker. One of her special treats was rosette cookies filled with hot fudge sauce.

In 1967, the family moved to Pine Bluffs. Betty did home childcare, some catering and worked at Pine Bluffs Elementary School. As the school librarian, her love of books and reading grew.

Betty was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She focused on teaching her children character, honesty, generosity and self-reliance. Betty spent many hours attending the many activities of her children and grandchildren.

Following Donald's death in 1996, Betty moved to Cheyenne. On June 2, 2007, she married Lloyd Eisenhauer. They enjoyed traveling and visiting with family and friends.

Betty was a very determined, independent, focused, strong, giving, gracious and beautiful woman inside and out. She quietly and courageously lived with her illness for over half of her life. Betty loved God and her family, reading, painting, dancing and volunteering.

She treasured the many friendships she developed throughout her life.
