David John Janicek

David, 85, of Reno, Nev., passed away peacefully at Veteran Hospice facility in Reno Nevada on January 15, 2016.

Dave was born in Bellwood, Nebraska to Albert and Helen Janicek on January 18, 1930.

In 1950, after graduating high school, he enlisted with the United States Air Force as an “AEFT Fleet Tech” at Edwards Air Force Base. He proudly served 4 years. He was always proud to be an Air Force Veteran.

Dave is survived by his six children, Vince Janicek of Meridian, Idaho, Angela Reed of Grimes, Iowa, Kelan Janicek of Sparks, Nevada, Brett Janicek of Kimball, Thane Janicek of Sparks, Nevada and Reine Mark of Scottsbluff, and Marie Janicek, of Kimball, mother of the six Janicek children. 11 grandchildren: Anna and Abby Janicek, Justin, Britni and Mitchell Reed, Jason Crowe and Sawyer Janicek, Austin and Nolan Janicek, Courtney Ramirez, Jacob and Zachary Mark. Additionally, sisters: Alberta Brown of Scottsbluff and Carolee Egging of Gurley and brothers Derald Janicek and Duane Janicek of Kimball, and his twin brother Daniel Janicek of Denver, Colorado.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Helen Janicek, brothers: Donald Janicek, Dale Janicek and Richard Janicek and sisters Patricia Glenn and Betty Janicek.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, Jan. 25, 2016 at 2 p.m. at The Northern Nevada Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Fernley, Nevada.
