Bells will be ringing

Calling all volunteers. Salvation Army Bell Ringers are needed at Kimball's Main Street Market from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. every Friday and Saturday beginning Friday, Dec. 4 and ending Dec. 19.

The Red Kettle Christmas campaign, the Salvation Army's most prominent fund-raiser, first started in 1891 in San Francisco, according to the organization's website.

This fund-raiser allows the Salvation Army to provide meals, toys and clothing to more than 6 million people during the Christmas season as well as assist more than 34 million Americans nationwide throughout the year.
