Kimball ends regular season

The Kimball High Volleyball Teams closed out the regular season at Sidney this past week losing to the Class B Lady Red Raiders in all of the matches played.

In freshman play, Kimball lost 25-16 25-9 with Kate Reader high for Kimball with 4 points followed by Lacy Klinkhammer with 3 and Jazlyn Harroun with 3. Sidney won the junior varsity match 25-16 25-19 with Justine Heeg high for Kimball with 9.

The host school also won the varsity match in three sets with scores of 25-21 25-19 25-16. Madie Snyder was high for Kimball in service points with 9 followed by Ali Hunsaker with 5. Madison Biesecker led in set assists with 16, had 9 kills and 3 blocks. Danika Daum had 11 assists, 11 kills, and 5 blocks. Mikayla Fiehtner also had 3 blocks.

Coach Jeri Ferguson said "We were disappointed in our play at Sidney. I thought we would win some sets, and maybe even win the match. I think we were still in a down-mood from losing at the WTC Tournament. I am happy though that we came back with some good practice sessions after losing at Sidney and we are excited to see what we can do at sub-districts". The Lady Longhorns moved into sub-district tournament play this past Monday at Alliance, hoping to extend their season on into a district playoff match and perhaps a berth in the state tournament.
