Lady Wildcats face four losses

The Banner County Lady Wildcats were unable to score against the Lady Warriors, who scored two points at the Potter-Dix triangular last Tuesday.

The Lady Wildcats were outmatched with Leyton racking up 19 kills and holding Banner County to five. The Lady Wildcats were outscored by aces, 6-1.

The Lady Wildcats faced a tougher defense as well, with Leyton blocking four to one throughout the match.

Following the loss, the Lady Wildcats faced the host, the Potter-Dix Lady Coyotes and left the match with a second 2-0 loss.

Leading the Lady Wildcats in kills was MaKenna Dahlgrin with 4 of the eight, while senior Danielle Flick served up the solitary Banner County ace.

With just a few days to recover, Banner County seemed to feel the home-court advantage when they hosted Sioux County last Friday.

Leading the fight in kills for the Lady Wildcats was senior Shay White with six. White also served up two aces, and contributed nine digs.

The Lady Warriors more than doubled Banner County’s kills, with a total of 21. Leading in kills for the visiting team were juniors Rachel Ellis and Abby Meidell with five each.

Aces served up totaled three for the Lady Wildcats and 19 for the visiting team, eight of which from sophomore Becky Watson.

Despite their efforts, the Sioux County Lady Warriors defeated the Lady Wildcats 3-0.

Banner County (4-17) faced the Leyton Lady Warriors (22-8) a second time in one week, with a match last Tuesday at Dalton.
