Scramble closes out golf league play for the season

A year-end combined scramble closed out league play for both the Thursday Men’s Association and the Four Winds Men’s Association this past Sunday at the Four Winds Golf Course.

A total of 24 golfers participated and the pairings were evidently mighty good as it took extra holes to determine the winners among the middle three teams. The winning team of Lynn Anthony, Pat O’Brien, Don Trofholz, Gary Haack, and Bill Shain shot a score of 60, leaving no doubt as to their status. The next three teams all shot 63 however and after playoffs, the team of Tom O’Brien, Steve Linn, Roger Wynne, Roger Dohse, and Charlie Carlson took 2nd place honors. Third place went to the team of Dean Golding, Steve Pattison, Terry Lovesee, Michael Reuter, and Bob Elwood. Fourth place was the team of Henry Heeg, Bert Linn, Randy Bohac and Dave Lukassen. Fifth place with a score of 65 was the team of Bob Kellner, Keith Staehr, Kelly Garrett, Mark Fornstrom, and Brett Belgum.

Although this was the final event for both men’s associations, a reminder that there is still a lot of golf to be played as the weather dictates and the course is in excellent condition. This Sunday is $5 golf day so get your tee times. Also on October 11th is the Fund-raiser two-person tournament and at a low cost of just $20 per person. Call the pro shop for more info and get signed up.
