Main Street Market named retailer of the year

Panhandle Coop Association, doing business as Main Street Market Kimball, Scottsbluff and Torrington, Wyo., was honored with the most prestigious award Sept. 18 in Omaha at the CenturyLink Center in conjunction with the 84th Annual Affiliated Foods Midwest (AFM) Fall Food Show.

Panhandle Coop was proudly recognized with a Retailer of the Year Award among a crowd of fellow retailers, vendors and Affiliated Foods Midwest management and staff. The Retailer of the Year Award is presented to the retailer that has exhibited outstanding support to the AFM Cooperative, leadership in our industry, involvement in their community, and a pattern of growth, stability and innovation in their business.

Martin W. Arter, Affiliated Foods Midwest President/CEO stated, "With a lot of creativity, hard work and perseverance, Panhandle Cooperative has made a huge impact in their business and the entire AFM Cooperative by developing and enhancing their services, stores, and performance and we were very excited to honor them with this deserving award this year."

Affiliated Foods Midwest is a member-owned cooperative providing independent grocers with a full range of foods, supermarket supplies and services throughout several states in the Midwest. AFM is a member of the Topco Cooperative, the second largest procurer of grocery goods in the United States.
