NONE INJURED AS TRAIN HITS TRACTOR

The Kimball County Sheriff's Office and Kimball's Emergency Medical Services responded to a call at approximately 2:20 p.m. Tuesday of a collision between a tractor and a train 2 miles east of Kimball just off U.S. Hwy. 30. Initially, the Kimball Volunteer Fire Department was also dispatched, but that call was canceled as it was determined unnecessary. The driver, Raul Buanteo Sr., was uninjured and is pictured on the left with Michael Reuter, the owner of the tractor, and Raul Buanteo Jr. "The tractor pulled up a little too close to the tracks and he didn't realize how far the nose of the tractor reached," Kimball County Sheriff Harry Gillway said. "It was an unfortunate accident and we are glad no one was hurt."
