Lady Wildcats open season 1-2

The Banner County volleyball team opened its season with a 1-2 record last week.

The Lady Wildcats opened the season at home last Thursday with a 2-0 win against Minatare. They won 25-11 and 25-23.

MaKenna Dahlgrin led the team offensively with three kills and a block. Paige Cross added two kills in the win. Savannah Jordan led the team serving with five aces, while Cross added four.

Defensively, Cross and Danielle Flick had two digs each for the Lady Wildcats. Cross also led the team with three assists.

Banner also dropped a 2-0 game to Creek Valley on Thursday night. The Lady Wildcats fell 25-10 and 25-12.

Emily Singleton led the team offensively with two kills, while a trio of players had one ace each. Shay White had a team-high six digs defensively.

Banner wrapped up the week with a 3-0 road lost at Hayes Center/Maywood. The Lady Wildcats fell 25-18, 25-16 and 25-19.

Dahlgrin led the team offensively with eight kills and four blocks, while Cross chipped in with four aces.

Shay White had a team-high seven digs, and Cross led the team with six assists.

After taking on Hemingford and Hay Springs in a triangular on Tuesday, the Lady Wildcats are back in action Saturday morning with a triangular at Sioux County with Bayard also in the mix.
