Alice V. Jones

Alice V. Jones, 92, of Kimball, died at the Kimball County Manor on Friday, July 10, 2015.

Graveside services will be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, July 27, at the Kimball Cemetery with Sister Anne Hall officiating. Memorial services will be held at the Kimball County Manor following the burial.

Friends may stop at the funeral home on Friday, July 24, from 1-4 p.m. to sign the register book and leave condolences for the family. The services for Alice have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.

Alice Virginia Jones was born in Dix on Aug. 14, 1922, the daughter of John and Helen Rasmussen. She was raised on her father's homestead in the Dix are and graduated from the Dix High School. She met and married Elmer Henry Jones on Oct. 22, 1942.

During World War II, Alice helped the war effort by working at the Sioux Ordinance Depot in Sidney and also helping farm her father's farm. Following the war, Alice and Elmer moved to Greeley, Colo. The couple had two children, Sharon and Daryl. She worked as a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family. She has been a resident of the Kimball County Manor since 1996, where she will be remembered for her smile and kindness to others.

Survivors include her children, Sharon (Dwight) Tisdale of Livingston, Texas, and Daryl Jones of Scottsbluff; granddaughters, Nicole (Lawrence) Snyder of Kimball and Kimberly (Andrew) Derr of Friend; great grandchildren, Colton and Madison Snyder and Nathan and Breanna Derr.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Elmer Rasmussen.
