Good turnout for All-Class Reunion golf tourney

A total of 56 golfers and 14 four-person scramble teams turned out for the Kimball High All Class Reunion Golf Tournament held this past Saturday at the beautiful Four Winds Golf Course. Once again nice weather greeted the golfers as they went to their appointed Tees for the 8 a.m. start time.

The winning team of Tom Andersen, Pete Andersen, Mark Stormberg and Peter Salter shot a winning round of 59, two strokes better than the runner up team of Mitch Brown, Toby Welch, Brian Williams, and Gene Golding who finished with a 61. The third place team was made up of Peggy Motz, Roger Gunderson, Owen Andersen, and Jack Shaw shooting 63.

Interesting to note that the winning team had three Kimball High grads from the 1970 graduating classes with Mark Stormberg of the class of 1971, Tom Andersen 1974, and Pete Andersen of 1977. Yet another Kimball grad was scheduled to play on the team but didn't show so they filled it with Mr. Salter.

Lots of players on the tournament list who graduated, or attended school at Kimball, and lots of positive remarks on how nice the Four Winds golf course is and how fortunate Kimball is to have this beautiful course for those who live there, and to attract golfers from out of town A tip of the visor to everyone on the committee who helped with the tournament and also to Four Winds Pro Chad Wise for putting it all together, and to Jeremy Williams and his staff for having the course ready to challenge the golfers.
