Ferguson family wins TeamMates tourney

A Ferguson family team consisting of Kendall and Michael Ferguson, Brendan Walker, and Rod Paradies captured the championship of the annual Team Mates Four Person Golf Scramble this past Saturday at the Four Winds Golf Course.

The winning team shot a round of 12 under par with a low score of 60 to edge out two other teams that pushed the winners.

The runner-up team of Chad Wise, Dillon Wise, Payton Wise, and Bill Wallace were one stroke back with a 61, and third place was one more stroke back as the team of Adrian Fuss, Hod Boltjes, Ryan Behrends, and Josh Enevoldsen shot 62.

Two teams shot 65 with a score card playoff awarding fourth place to the team of Tom O'Brien, Pat O'Brien, Terry Lovesee, and

Nick Kuxhausen, and the team of Randy Bohac, Gary Haack, Kevin Thomas, and Bob Kellner finishing fifth.

A total of 12 teams took part in the scramble that began on Saturday with a lunch served up at 12:30 followed by a 1:30 p.m. shotgun start. Nice weather and the beautiful groomed Four Winds Golf Course awaited the golfers. Along with the prizes awarded to the top teams, which included tickets to a Nebraska football game, Broncos football game, and Rockies baseball game, there were also lots of nice flag prizes handed out.

Carolyn Montgomery heads up the local TeamMates mentoring program which encourages local adults to mentor young people in the Kimball school system. The local TeamMates chapter also takes trips to interesting locations and functions throughout the year.

She expressed thanks to everyone who played and helped out with this year's tournament.
