Fundraisers planned for Spicer

AJ Spicer, the Kimball teen recently injured in a single-vehicle roll over is currently being treated at Swedish Medical Center in Denver, Colorado.

An update on Spicer's condition was unavailable to this newspaper at the time of publication.

Several fundraisers have been established to help Spicer's family during this time and an account has been set up at FirsTier Bank in Kimball.

Pay it Forward the American Way is accepting check donations until July 24, no cash will be accepted for tracking purposes. Anyone wishing to contribute should make the check payable to: Pay it Forward the American Way and mail to 617 South Jefferson, Street Kimball, NE 69145.

Additionally, the Longhorn Booster Club has made Longhorn cutout yard ornaments with Spicer's football jersey number, 33, on it.

Anyone donating to the fundraiser will be given the yard cutout for 48 hours. Donations can be made at Points West Bank in any amount or those interested can call 308.230.0425.

On July 7 the local Pizza Hut is donating 50 percent of their proceeds to Spicer's family. For more information about this fundraiser patrons can contact the Pizza Hut manager, Brooke Kiefer.

Incredible Ink, a local printing company, will be making t-shirts for the staff of Pizza Hut and will also be selling shirts with half of those proceeds going to the family as well.

Two candlelight vigils have been held in Kimball in Spicer's honor since the June 22 accident.
