Four local students were named to the dean’s list or honor roll at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for the spring 2015 semester.

Qualification for the dean’s list varies among the eight undergraduate colleges and the honor roll for undeclared students. Students must also take a minimum of 12 credit hours to qualify for the dean’s list.

Robert James Olsen of Harrisburg was named to the dean’s list in the college of engineering. College of engineering students must have a minimum 3.5 GPA to be named to the dean’s list.

Luke Tyler Johnson of Potter was also named to the dean’s list in the college of engineering.

Danielle Faith Jones of Potter was named to the dean’s list in the college of agricultural sciences and natural resources. College of agricultural sciences and natural resources students must have a minimum 3.75 GPA to be named to the dean’s list.

Kirstie Anna Smith of Potter was named to the dean’s list for both the college of arts and sciences and the college of fine and performing arts. College of arts and sciences students must have a minimum 3.7 GPA to be named to the dean’s list. College of fine and performing arts students must have a minimum 3.7 GPA to be named to the dean’s list.

Kirstie Anna Smith of Potter was among 40 University of Nebraska-Lincoln students initiated into membership in Phi Beta Kappa on April 30.

Smith, a biological sciences and theatre performance major, is the daughter of (Joseph) Casey and Claire Smith of Potter. She graduated May 9.

Phi Beta Kappa is the nation’s oldest academic honor society, recognizing and encouraging a commitment to excellence in the liberal arts and sciences.
