Leo D. Buddecke

Leo D. Buddecke, 76, of Kimball, died at his home in Kimball on Saturday, May 23, 2015.

Friends may stop at the funeral home on Thursday from 1-5 p.m. to sign the register book and leave condolences for the family.

Memorial services for Leo will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 29, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kimball with Pastor Ken Mars officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date.

Leo Daniel Buddecke was born in Kimball on Feb. 24, 1939, the son of Anton and Catherine (Kollhaff) Buddecke. He was raised and attended school in Kimball. He worked several jobs in Kimball, including the creamery and a local grocery store. Later in life he worked for Orbit Drilling as a rig operator. Leo worked for Cabela’s in the warehouse. He also worked for Swift Trucking before retiring in 2004. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Buddecke of Kimball; daughters, Corinna (Todd) Schmidt of Sterling, Colo., Angie (Jerry) Gregory of Fruita, Colo., and Penny (Brian) Harms of Kimball; brothers, Don (Dee) Buddecke of Kimball, and Jim (Joan) Buddecke of Taft, Calif .; sisters, Jo Cherry of Greeley, Colo., Margaret McCabe of Dalton, Liz (Roy) Cooper of Austin, Texas, and Edna Baldwin of Kimball; grandchildren, Jeremy, Christopher and Ryan (Cassey) Gregory, Kaleb (Jessica) and Emily Harms and Tyler Schmidt; great-grandchildren, Delilah Gregory and Jaelynn Harms; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kristy; brothers, Bob, LaVerne, Alfred and Laurence; and sisters, Kathy Buddecke, Clair Nelson and Agnes Peterson.
