College Corner: Graduation and Awards

Lyle Douglas Janicek of Kimball graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln this spring with a bachelor of landscape architecture degree from the College of Architecture.

Shayla Havlat of Kimball graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University with a bachelor of science degree in nursing.

Diane Baluska and Kaitlin Knaub, both of Kimball, were named to the president’s list at Chadron State College. To be named to the president’s list, a student must have a cumulative 4.0 grade point average.

Kassandra McKinnon of Bushnell, Alexander Rawlings of Kimball, Jay Thurin of Kimball, Talia Enevoldsen of Potter, Alyssa Sanders of Potter and Brandi Tallmage of Potter were was named to the dean’s list at Chadron State College. To be named to the dean’s list, a student must have a cumulative 3.5 grade point average or better.

Diane Baluska of Kimball was recognized as a Platinum Eagle award finalist during Ivy Day at Chadron State College. The Platinum Eagle award is given annually to one female and one male student “who have exhibited outstanding campus involvement.” She was one of four females nominated for the award.
