Banner County will have a pair of representatives at this week's state track meet. Senior Tyson Dahlgrin won the 110 meter hurdles and 300 meter hurdles to earn his way to Omaha, while MaKenna Dahlgrin took second in the discus to earn a state berth.

Tyson Dahlgrin took the top spot in the 110 meter hurdles in 15.69 seconds, almost a full second ahead of second place finisher Coby Hicks of Potter-Dix. He won the 300 meter hurdles in 41.33 seconds, just over a full second ahead of Cooper Hicks of Potter-Dix.

Close calls for the Wildcats include a third place finish in the 4x400 meter relay, one spot out of a state berth. Kadan Huber also took fourth in the long jump at 17-08, and finished fifth in the high jump at 5-06.

The Wildcats took seventh place in the team standings with 35 points. Potter-Dix won the team title, while Garden County finished second.

MaKenna Dahlgrin paced the Lady Wildcats with a strong effort in the throws. The freshman took second in the discus to earn a state berth. Her top throw was 106-03. She finished just one spot out in the shot put with a throw of 32-01. The top two in each event earn an automatic state berth.
