Weather dampens Kimball Junior High track invite

A late afternoon lightning storm cancelled out the final events of the day at the Kimball Junior High Track and Field Invite this past week, but most of the events went off as scheduled with good weather conditions. Those events not held were the boys 200 meter dash, the 800 meter run for all divisions, and all of the relays.

A solid all around performance by the Kimball 8th grade boys as they won their school division with 68 points with Perkins County runnerup with 45. The balance of the division saw Mitchell with 33, Pine Bluffs 32, Bayard 25, Burns 17, Bridgeport 17, Prairie 14, Alliance St. Agnes 12, Hemingford 10 and Morrill 6.

Brady Kilgore won the 75 meter hurdles with a time of 11.50.

Izaac Reuter was 2nd in the pole vault at 8’6” with Colton Mielke 6th at 7’0.” Ethan Culek-Schaeffer was 2nd in the discus at 103’0” and Aroon Flores 4th at 96’0.” Flores was also 3rd in the shotput at 39’9.75” and Corey Travis 6th at 32’9.50.” Zane Anthony was 3rd in the 400 with a time of 58.83 and Culek-Schaeffer was 5th in 1:00.32.
