Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First

Blood drive set for Monday

The Kimball community blood drive will be held from 2-5:30 p.m. on Monday, April 20, at the Kimball Event Center.

The regional blood bank reports that it needs 500 people a week to donate blood to serve the 47 area hospitals in this region.

Did you know that one out of every three people will need blood during their lives but only one in 20 people regularly give blood? Blood can only be stored on hospital shelves for 42 days and every three seconds someone needs a blood transfusion. Blood is always needed and you never know when it could be someone you know that needs it.

As an added incentive this month, donors will be registered to win a $200 gas card - one to be given away each week of April as part of the “We’re not foolin” April Fools blood donation campaign. Donate blood and you could be a winner.

For an appointment you may log onto http://www.bloodhero.com (sponsor code:Kimball) or you may call Donna Linn at 308-235-2256 to schedule your appointment.
