2 perfect games bowled in Lions Club fundraiser tourney

The Kimball Lions Club held their annual 9-pin no tap bowling tournament on March 20- 22 and again March 27- 29 with a combined total of 108 entries, according to event organizer Kathy Porter.

An additional $1,000 was paid out in prize money for two 300 games, bowled by Bruce Wilson of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Kelly Garrett of Kimball.

Those entries included 39 men single entrants, 13 ladies singles, 21 mixed double teams, and two youth singles – all league bowlers.

Additionally, four non-league men entered the contest as well as two non-league ladies, two non-league youth and two non-league doubles teams.

Top scorers in league doubles went to the team of Kelly Garret and Dave Lukassen with a total of 1,670 pins.

The mens league winner was Wilson with 905 pins, and the ladies league winner went to Katie Ryan with 777 pins.

The non-league doubles title went to the team of Susan and Marv Nelson with a combined total of 576 pins, while Tom O'Brien took the mens non-league title with a 688 score. Stacie Schadegg won the ladies non-league title with a 466.

The youth league top bowler was Cole Henton with 782 pins, followed by Jared Barnes with 673. The non-league youth winner was Joe Bremer, who scored 191, followed by Jasmine Gawith with 85.

Winners of tournament grudge match was the Clean Harbors Team comprised of Chris Rowley (669), Robert Gardner (695), Steve Kauffman (684), and Tom O'Brien (688) for a total of 2,736 pins.

The second place grudge match team, the Kimball Fire Department, totaled 2,376 pins and was followed by G.R.I. with 1,812. The Kimball Police Department came in next with a team of three totaling 1,219, and Autolok, with two bowlers, totalled 851.

The first place mens singles from the grudge matches went to Bill Gawith and the ladies first place went to Jo Nelson.
