Lions Club to host bowling tourney March 20-22, 27-29

The Kimball Lions Club will host a 9-pin, no tap bowling tournament with singles and doubles play over two weekends in March. The tournament will be held at Kim Bowl, located at 208 S. Birch Street.

The opening weekend bowling times are 7 p.m. on Friday, March 20; 1 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday, March 21; and 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday, March 22.

The second weekend bowling times are 7 p.m. on Friday, March 27; 1 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday, March 28; and 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday, March 29.

The entry fee is $20 per bowler per event. There are three games in each event.

There is a $1,000 prize for a 300 game, and the prize money will be split if there is more than one winner.

In addition to the regular tournament, there will be a separate “grudge match” tournament for members of the police department, fire department, sheriff’s office and ambulance crew. The winning team will get a traveling trophy to take with them for a year, along with bragging rights over the other departments. The winning team also wins a custom beer mug designed by Amber Wilke of Prairie Art.
