Lady Coyotes top Leyton, Hay Springs

The Potter-Dix girls basketball team continued its winning ways last week with victories against Leyton and Hay Springs. The Lady Coyotes also dropped a game at Kimball on Jan. 13.

Potter-Dix 51, Leyton 43

A strong second quarter lifted Potter-Dix to a 51-43 win at rival Leyton (4-7) last Friday.

The Lady Coyotes (9-2) led 9-8 after the first quarter and outscored Leyton 19-11 in the second period for a 28-19 halftime lead.

Anna McLaughlin had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds to lead Potter-Dix in the win. Alexus Rozelle also had a strong night with nine points, eight rebounds and six assists.

Potter-Dix took the early lead and went on to defeat Hay Springs, 37-29, last Saturday.

McLaughlin led the team offensively with eight points, while Rozelle added seven points and 12 rebounds.

The Lady Coyotes took a 12-8 first quarter lead and held an 18-16 lead at halftime. They led 22-20 entering the fourth quarter and outscored Hay Springs (4-7) 15-8.
