The Kimball High School speech team is off to a fantastic start to the season, reports sponsor Jenn Dillinger. Kimball won the Class C/D championship in Scottsbluff on Jan. 10. Individual awards went to Jessica Portillo and Nicholas Thomas-Lewis for fifth place in duet acting, while Kallie Bush, Sanford Day, Taylor Muldoon, Audrey McDowall and Audrey Day took third place in oral interpretation of drama. Connor Moore won first place in humorous prose. Kimball also won the Class C/D championship on Jan. 17 at Gordon-Rushville. Portillo and Thomas-Lewis took third place in duet acting, and Christianne Clower won first place in poetry interpretation. "The team has a full schedule coming up and is working incredibly hard," Dillinger said.
