The Banner County boys basketball team split a pair of games over the weekend, winning at home on Friday against Hay Springs and dropping a game at Hemingford on Saturday.
Banner County 53, Hay Springs 50
The Wildcats (2-7) jumped out to an early lead and held off a late Hay Springs rally to win, 53-50, on Friday.
Banner led 21-7 after the first quarter of play and held a 30-23 lead at halftime. Each team scored 11 third quarter points, before Hay Springs outscored Banner 16-12 in the fourth quarter.
Tyson Dahlgrin had a monster game, posting a double-double with 22 points and 18 rebounds, to lead the Wildcats to the win. Michael McKown added 12 points for Banner.

Hemingford (9-1) sprinted to a 22-2 first quarter lead en route to a 74-17 win Saturday against Banner County.
Dahlgrin led the team with six points and 11 rebounds. Bryce Olsen also scored four points in the loss.
After they hosted Hyannis on Tuesday, Banner travels to Crawford on Friday and hosts Minatare on Saturday.
