Kimball JV teams each get a win

Kimball’s junior varsity basketball teams got in three games each this past week with the girls winning one and the boys doing the same.

The girls lost to Sidney 56-23 on Thursday night with Myriah Tyan scoring 10, Hannah Biesecker 6, Shauntae Daily 5, and Justine Heeg 2. Sidney had 12 players score for them as they ran players in and out. Kimball won over Mitchell Friday night 54-42 with Jannel Fiehtner high with 14, Alex Reader 13 with 3 treys, Myriah Tyan 12, Kaylyn Nelson 4, Shauntae Daily 4, Justine Heeg 4, Kennedy Lewis 2, and Hannah Biesecker 1. Kimball lost at Chase County 50-34 with Reader high with 11, Tyan 11, Biesecker 4, Heeg 3, Ireland Olson, and Fiehtner 2 each. The Kimball girls JV team is now 3-4 on the season.

In boys JV action Kimball fell to Sidney 61-35 with Jordan Greenwood scoring 13 with a pair of treys, Tyler Magninie 11 with a trey, Jaden Withrow 5, Jaikob Cole 2, Kole Bush 2, and Ethan Land 2. Mitchell won over Kimball 51-49 with Trent Rutledge and Jordan Greenwood high with 15 each, Jaden Withrow 10, Magninie 4, Land 3, and Bush 2. Kimball won at Chase County in overtime 65-59. Land had 19 with 5 treys, Greenwood 11, Tyrus Gawith 8, Jaden Withrow 8, Rutledge 7, Magninie 10, and AJ Williams 2. The Kimball boys are also 3-4 in JV play.

Girls JV game time at Bridgeport Friday afternoon is 2:30 with the boys to follow at 4. Saturday at Gordon game times are 1 and 2:30. There is freshman basketball at Mitchell Monday, Jan.19 with game times of 5:30 and 7.
