Helen M. Henson

Helen M. Henson, 88, of Kimball, died at the Kimball County Manor on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 14, at the Kimball Presbyterian Church with Pastor Alan Foutz officiating. Burial will be in the Kimball Cemetery.

Friends were able to call at the funeral home on Tuesday, Jan. 13, from 1-6 p.m. Memorials have been established to Kimball Presbyterian Church. Helen Meria Henson was born in Mitchell on July 7, 1926, the daughter of Adam and Catherine (Reizenstein) Hill. She attended school in Mitchell and graduated from the Mitchell High School in 1944.

Helen worked for the Government Rationing Office in Scottsbluff and also worked for the Mitchell Creamery. She was married to Richard Henson on Jan. 21, 1951 in Mitchell. They moved to Dix and farmed and ranched in the Dix and Kimball areas their entire working life. She also worked for Weatherwise Manufacturing in their retail sales for a number of years.

Helen and Dick retired in 1997 and moved to Kimball. Dick preceded her in death in 2005. Helen was an artist and enjoyed painting and doing crafts. She was a devoted member of the Kimball Presbyterian Church. She was always proud farm wife and enjoyed country living.

Survivors include her sister-in-law, Marian Hill of Gering; nephews Michael (Janine) Hill of Tennessee, Steven (Shelly) Hill of Arizona and Tony Hill of Morrill; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother Roy Hill.
