Lady Coyotes defeat Sedgwick County

The Potter-Dix girls basketball team opened its season last Friday with a 49-39 win against Sedgwick County (Colo.).

The Lady Coyotes overcame a 10-4 first quarter deficit en route to the win. They outscored Sedgwick 17-8 in the second quarter for a 21-18 halftime lead. Potter-Dix also outscored Sedgwick 28-21 in the second half.

Potter-Dix coach Jeff Einspahr attributed the slow start to first game jitters.

“I think it was just the first game jitters as the second quarter we started to hit some shots and played well defensively,” he said.
